I happen to be located in West Michigan as well, it may convienent to swap ideas or questions. If anything a small network between the two of us. Of course anyone else as well.
Good to see that some people are interested. I'll keep checking this for a few days and I'll bump it if need be. Rookies and Pros alike would be welcome. Just looking for a group that can share ideas, show some work, and all-around network. Hello there in Sterling Heights! Hope to see you when we get this started!
DRF, part of the reason for starting a users group is to help and encourage those who are just starting out, so you would be more than welcome, as would your friend.
Hey, if you're willing to make the trip! There really wouldn't be those who "count," only those who don't mind getting where they need to go. Since I'm trying to start a West Michigan users group, most of the meetings would naturally take place in West Michigan (Grand Rapids and surrounding areas). I'm sure we could all find a little time to travel, though.
Hey Guys, I'm shooting a wedding in Dearborn, and I might need a PD150 rental at the end of May, on the weekend of the 22nd. I'm coming from Nova Scotia and I think it might be easier to rent down there, then bring one.
Is there a rental house or one of you fine gentlemen that I could rent from?
Sorry for taking business away from you guys. ;-)
Hi,
Although I'm located in Georgia (retired from Air Force), I was born in Grand Rapids and grew up in Cedar Springs. I'm planning on a vacation back to michigan in July and if you could let me know when your meeetings are, I would like to sit in one if I'm available at that time....
Please let me know

I have exchanged emails with Kathleen Lindeboom over at the “Cow” (www,creativecow.net) regarding starting a Michigan User Group Forum, (UG: Michigan) to replace the inactive Detroit SEMAFX forum (UG: Detroit [SEMAFX]). I offered to moderate and promote the forum.. She feels it’s a good idea and said she would start the process. In my opinion this will be a great resource for all Michigan based video groups – including a Michigan Vegas group. What do you guys think?
I haven't checked the forum lately and was looking to see if there was any updates. I am glad to see that there are some with interest, a local forum to bounce ideas off of each is a great idea.
I've got a VX-2000, but I live in GR, which is about 3 hrs from D-town. Maybe check with XCRACER above?
I am still interested in West Michigan, and I would consider a COW group, but I'm mainly looking for people who want to meet in person once a month or every other month to share ideas and show some of what they have been working on, and to network a little. Any other takers? Let's get something going.
Hi all:
Gal from Canton, Michigan here. I would love to see a vegas users group get started, and would be more than willing to make the drive for meetings. Please count me in!!!!
I'm located in Kalamazoo (40min south of GR, 2hr15min East of Det). And not only would I love to help build a VUG I already have the infrastructure I'd be happy to contribute!
I own a science and technogy education group (www.thegeekgroup.org) and we have forums and all that jazz, and we're in teh process of getting a nice new lab with plenty of meeting area and suchlike.
Who's interested? I can setup an area in the Group's forums specifily for a Vegas Group online, and I'd be happy to donate space once a week or whatever for actuall in-person meetings. :)
In the meantime, I'm a vegas noob and would LOVE some mentorship in why I can't get .AVI files to work (I get the audio track, but teh video is half the length it should be and is blank), please email me at chrisboden@hotmail.com if you can help or if you're interested in the VUG idea :)
