Whaaat?...tell me I'm doing something wrong here.

Tell me this problem isn't so...and I'm doing something
wrong here...

I have two Delta 1010s (for 16 track inputs) with the
latest driver and Vegas 2.0b.
I use delta panel settings of Mon.Mixer (which means it
routes all delta outputs to 1/2) and 44.1,24-bit file
project defaults in Vegas 2.0b

I'm doing a project using 3 busses (a-c) which have waves
Q4 EQ and Waves RCL on each Buss (a-c). Each waves plug-in
on the busses have their own settings for each. The busses
are:

A - Organ (trks 1-3)
B - Guitar (trks 4
C - Drums (trks 5-8)

I found the mix and went to Render all tracks 24-bit file
(also tried: save-as, render to track)...
Playback this 24-bit mixdown track on added Bus D (no
plugins on this buss and track volume set to 0.0)

PROBLEM!!!!!

The mixdown file playback was WAAAYY different than what's
heard when the project files play.
It consistently brought down the drums on Buss C volume a
bit as well as guitar volume on Buss B.......The Organ
(buss A) sounded the same as the project playback.

** the volume faders for each buss (a-c) in Vegas are all
at 0.0, just eq and compression for each buss (instrument),
two reverbs buss (FX1 and FX2)...nothing out of the
ordinary....but i consistently screws up the mix when I
mixdown this 3 buss project. I'm VERY worried about this
as this affects many new projects I'm working on.

I usually used a projects with just one buss (A). this
issue, if true, is WAY out of whack and to me is a
showstopper bug if this is a known issue. I'm holding back
my frustration with this in hopes that I may be missing a
step here...but I don't think I am.

I need/want to use bussing with certain projects..... but
if the final mixdown output ISN'T what it sounds like in
the actual project....then this is BIG trouble. I can't
believe this is true (please tell me I'm doing something
wrong).

I must be tired. It was a simple delta panel setup issue.

Let me get this straight.
do you have all the busses going to the same output? Not
just according to your soundcard, but according to vegas?
If all three busses are assigned IN VEGAS to go to the same
outputs, then this behavior is very frightening indeed.

I think that every once in a while on here we see a post
about rendered files being different than mixes, and not
just from you either. I usually mix on the mixing console
then record the output of the mixer back into vegas so I
dont see this, but I HOPE you are wrong.

It sounds like you're doing something wrong in your
routing. How do you route buss A, B, & C to buss D? I
don't believe this is possible. Sounds like you're
probably monitoring somehow through busses A,B&C and then
when you're rendering it's probably only rendering through
buss A.

No it was actually a setup issue with the delta 1010 panel.

In Mon.Mixer mode...I have to mute channels 3/4,5/6,7/8 but
leave just 1/2 unmuted. I tested the sound of the mix
between these changes and found that this setup is exactly
what the output ACTUALLY is.(getting a doubling of volume
on those tracks when the others aren't muted).

My previous setup must have gotten out of whack with a new
driver update or something. Sorry for the panic...glad it
was user error here.
