What about the LG GSA-4040B?

Hello All,

LG GSA-4040B burner - DVD/CD/Everything/Every format

This machine has been Australian PC User's Best Buy pick for some months now and the price (AUD) has come down drastically. There's a local computer fair on this Sunday and I'll likely bite the bullet and enter into the world of DVD (ouch!).

Does anyone have one and what can you tell me about it? Especially, Any problems?

I've no specific knowledge of that or any other DVD burner apart from the SOny I use. I'd say pretty well all DVD burners should be problem free these days.
But then again my Sony has a REALLY strange problem. I have a pro DVD player. It will play everything, it'll even play a raw mpeg-2 file off a DVD or work it's way past corrupted authoring. The only thing it will NOT play is DVD+R burnt in this model of Sony burners. DVD+Rs from any other burner not a problem, DVD+R from the SOny in any player that plays +R, not a problem.
