Matt, you should look at the MOTU2408 www.motu.com I am using it now
with SoundForge 4.5 and VegasPro. I am really happy with it! I am
using a pentium 3 450, 128 mb Ram, 2 13.5 gig IBM 66 hard drives, an
ABIT BE6 motherboard and a full tower with 2 extra fans. This
computer is used specifically for digital audio and nothing else. I
have heartache when I upgrade my software from the internet, though.
I have another computer which is hooked to the net and is also used
for the office work, spreadsheets, and word processing, etc. Digital
Audio Labs www.digitalaudio.com is coming out with a new card soon
for Tascam DA-88's which looks very good!

Hello Matthew, I recomend a Win NT 4.0 OS, forget the Win 9X (Isn't a
good SO for work every day) and forget all Win 9X harware (Isn't
professional). 128 Mb of Ram is enough for Vegas, HD Seagate Cheetah
(40 stereo tracks at same time) with a Tekram or Adaptec SCSI card.
Double processor system (multitread), with two PIII or a cheap
combination (And the same power) with the ABIT BP6 and two Intel
Mendocino (Double procesor only works on NT system). The card without
any doubt, the Lynx Studio One, but is better for optain a great
cuality of record, that the converters are out of the computer case,
the combi of a Lynx with a Apogee PSX 100 is great.
Bye
