Christmas is around the corner, great opportuniy to get some new toys!!! I know, not the true meaning and all but anyway
I am using on board audio ,sounds great to me ,straight from the computer to dv, or computer to d/a converter to mixer to beta. Never had a problem with finished products.
What am I missing?

If it work, don't fix it. However, a better sound card would do stuff you probley will never use (24-bit audio, stuff like that).

The only advantage I found with my SoundBlaster Audigy, versus the 6.1 built-in was that it used much less processing power.
