Hello all,

I am trying to determine if i should spend the cash to get Acid, but i am unclear as to the main differences. The user interface looks very similar. And alot of the functions seem similar.

If i get Acid i would mainly use it to construct drum/percussion loops. I would then use these in Vegas along with all the live full length tracks.

anyway, apreciate any info on what Acid could do for the construction of these loops that Vegas couldnt

Be Blessed,
Son'

acid is a loop based production tool which makes it great
for producing loop based drum beats.. it can stretch
tempos , change the amount of beats per measure , and
stores all the loops in memory which gives you the ability
to create as many tracks as your memory can handle.. those
are the main things acid can do that vegas cant..

when used in tandem with vegas for laying down the vocal
tracks and adding effects you can pruduce some very high
quality tracks..

if purchasing both is a little too heavy on the wallet than
depending on the type of music your producing you can
probably get away with just acid.. you can record one track
at a time into acid pro which is enough for a vocal track,
but acid is in no way a multitrack recorder like vegas..

I find it better to create all my beats in Vegas than Acid.
If it's a loop, I'll open it in the trimmer, highlight the
drum sounds, notes or whatever I want to use, and then just
drag them onto the timeline. Even working with a resolution
of 1/128th notes for sawtooth sounding drum fills, the
samples will still snap into place. I tried Acid Express,
but it seems difficult because you can only have one loop
per track.. if I'm not mistaken? Anyway, it's extremely
easy to timestretch in Vegas, by just holding ctrl and
dragging the ends.
