What content do you edit with VMS

Hey Guys and Gals,

What type of content do you edit with VMS? I am very interested so that I can compare to the type of content I create whether I should be staying on this one and learn it or invest a bit more into Vegas Pro.

The things that I edit are

  • Vlogs
  • Home videos
  • Weddings
  • Birthdays
  • Small trailers

Nothing that requires massive amount of effects, just efficient cutting because there's a lot of content.

Thanks for your kind replies! I'm the type of person once I get invested on a platform I put my 110% into it. I just want to make sure that migrating from Premiere Pro CC to VMS was the right choice. I know this question will come so will answer it now. I moved because of cost. It was $80 a month and I don't earn much from my videos therefore it wasn't worth the investment.

I have both VMS and VPro. Efficient cutting can be done with both. Extra features of VPro are just some Pro Video formats and some extra tools. Effects/Transitions are (almost) the same. Of what I have seen from your youtube channel, this all can be done with VMS.

Thanks 3POINT it definitely can. I mean there isn't anything fancy about it, just simple cuts. Hence, I am going to give it a solid crack for a few months with VMS. Definitely more powerful than iMovie and windows movie maker :)

I think you will soon love it. I'm a Vegasuser for more than ten years now. At home I use VMS and at my job Vpro. I always wonder why home editors choose VPro for editing there homevidoes, while VMS can also perfect do this job.

I make music videos. Most often a *lot* of fast cuts from many gigabytes of footage (we shoot easily with three or four cameras). Plus effects and coloring of course. MS works just fine.
