What deck do you have?

SonyEPM wrote on 12/2/2003, 5:48 PM
Quick and dirty survey, no prizes, I'd just like to get a feel for what you are using:

What video decks do you have? DV? DVCAM? Beta? SP? Digibeta? IMX? HDCAM? DVCPro? DVCPro.357?

Note this is "have" in the present tense, meaning "got it working right here", not had, might have, knew a guy that was thinking of having, royal have etc.

Thanks for the info!

Also, I hope some of you can make it to DVEXPO in LA- I'll be hanging around all day Wednesday and Thurs am, Spot willl be there doing some raps and demos, anyway, please stop by the Sony booth and say hello. One cool thing Sony has at this type of show is a shooting gallery- you can try out a slew of awesome cameras under "lit conditions" on a legit set with hostage/ talent and compare camera looks- you can record onto tape and walk with that if you want. See you there I hope-

GV - D1000E Mini DV deck by ... em .... er ..... Sony.

Great little deck - 4" LCD screen in the lid, also runs from battery for field work.

Currently works great with Vegas with full deck control. The one exception: 4 channel audio.

At this moment - working and in line -

1> JVC SR-VS30 (Mini-DV/S-VHS) Works with Vegas perfect. Deck control works prfect. Firewire in and out to/from the VHS side is a great thing to have. S-VHS onto normal VHS Stock is nice as well. Dubs look awesome. Plays back DVCam (the mini-dv sized tapes). Most excellent deck.
2> Sharp VC-H992 VHS with Quasi S-VHS playback. Cheapie deck for quickie dubs.
3> JVC HR-S5000 S-VHS deck. (over a decade old and still going strong with the original heads)

To name a few:

(4) Sony PVW-2800 Betcam Decks
(2) Panasonic AG-DV2000 DV/MiniDV Decks
(1) Sony J3 Digibeta
(1) Sony DVW-500 Digibeta
(1) Sony DSR-2000 DVCam
(1) Sony DSR-45 DVCam/MiniDV/DV
(1) Sony Digital 8 Camera (not sure of the model)

Dang, We spend a lot of $$ on Sony stuff! :)

We have hundreds of other decks but these are the ones we maily use with Vegas.

P.S. The to Digibeta Decks have SDI (wink, wink, nudge, nudge, say no more)
