When I render a clip to a directory, along with the newly formed *.avi file, a new *.sfl file is also created. Well, if I remove the *.avi file and place it somewhere else on C or G drive I don't get drop-out when I PTT. Recognising this, I've just experimented by removing this *.sfl file into a non-associated directory away from the newly rendered *.avi. And again, no dropout in PTT. What is more, the audio is fine. When I then put the *.sfl file back in the same directory I can re-invoke the dropout on PTT. On reflection, my best results have been when I have physically transferred a new AVI file onto a separate drive and different directory. My assumption has been that the AVI is PTTing well because it is not fragmented, or whatever, and so I haven't given it much further thought. Until now, that is.
I've re-tested this phenomenon and "shifting" the AVI file to different or newly made directories, does produce improved PTT results. But in the meantime, could somebody enlighten me as to what this *.sfl file does and of what importance it is? And what happens when I move the AVI file to different directories?
I've noticed that the *.sfl file is something like: "filename.avi.sfl".
Maybe this could identify what the issues have been with my PTTing. However, PTT is working.
