What does the Vegas 5 DEMO, NOT do?

laffTrax wrote on 4/25/2004, 10:44 PM
Meaning, I have 25 more days left to use this sucker for free. I like that the 5.0 demo let's you save projects. Remember, no previous demo versions allowed this. I'm wondering, can i crank out a kick-a#@ project in my remaining 25 days? You know it!

But the question is, are there any important full-version features NOT INCLUDED in the demo? DVDA 2 clearly states what is not included in the demo version. I've thus found, Vegas lists nothing so is it safe to assume it's the full version with only a limited timer?

Just want to know before i get to deep into a project ($500 ain't no chump change).

(not that anyone ever answers my posts anyway)

---One more additional note---
For all you spoiled nit-pickers, l'd like to satirically join in praise and voice my tedious complaint of the new desktop shortcut icon SUCKING! If only the ICON was better......i might consider the purchase...

Good day (it's a joke people)

Did you try to *render*, or *print to tape* ?
laffTrax wrote on 4/25/2004, 10:51 PM
Render? Yes. With (surprising) success, for the demo version. One avi file and a couple mpeg 2 tests. Didn't like the mpeg2 video quality results though....yet. (oddly, the mpeg 2 files froze up my windows media player...)
Avi played & looked superb however.

Print to tape? Haven't tried it yet.

Anyone else?

In my case the "30 day trial" did not run for more than 1 1/2 days. It got to "you have 28 days left" and that was it - suddenly started asking for registration over and over again and than telling me "thanks" and than telling me my trial had expired and than asking me to register again.

Beyond that there is no AC3 output. From what I have read if you did *not* have a prior version of Vegas or Acid or the like you also will not have mp3 or mpeg 2 I/O available.
