YOU can specify where the prerender (and many other types) of files are stored. Go to Options - Properties and change the various file locations there. Also go to File - Properties and change the file locations there as well. In File - Properties, you may also want to check the box that says to use these settings on all new projects.
Sure, the prerendering I understand, and that I would have to clearly define where they should be placed, and that I should make sure that this is happenning for every project. This I understand. However, Jetdv, I am attempting to ascertain what VV3 or now V4 uses the Windows/TEMP directory for, and if this folder is used in any way for Printing To Tape function.
I appreciate you wanting me to make sure where Pre-rendering happens - Ensuring that this is in place, does this effect or influence the functionality of Printing To Tape? And still, does the Windows/TEMP directory influence this?
Jetdv - my original question remains - what does this TEMP do for VV3 or now V4?
In the Preferences you can set where Vegas saves it's temp files; it defaults to the application temp directory or windows temp directory (depending on the OS), but go ahead and change it if you want to a location of your choice. You'll want to restart Vegas to release any temp files that it is still using in the old location (such as undo files, etc). Vegas stores undo/redo files there, pre-renders, and probably other stuff. Since pre-renders are used during PTT, I would say that the temp directory is related to PTT.
