What DVD authoring program can do these things?

Well it tried DVDA and it seems i cant do some of the things i need to do...can anyone recommend any good authoring programs that can do these things:

1) Menu with resizable motion thumbnails...but be able to "blend" it into the background using overlays (DVDA has a frame border that does this really well)

2) Ability to play a clip and have it transition into a menu, like the menus in star wars ep1 and 2, best i can come up with is have a video clip which automatically goes back to the rootmenu, cant specify an exit point to a menu

3) Ability to have a "set out" point of a clip to point to the beginning of another clip, preferably without having to rerender all my clips into one giant file and set points for each chapter selection

thats it :) thats all i want to do...youd think DVDA would do that..too bad it doesnt

any recommendations? or better yet..if you do have a workaround to these problems with DVDA....please share your techniques :)

DVDA can do all of these things (with ease). Well, with the exception of end actions (which we are all waiting for).

You just have to do a little research and read some past threads - all the answers you could ever possibly think of are already here.

I'd say we're also waiting for dvda to be able to return to the main menu and highlight the menu link it left from rather than defaulting to the top menu item.

Or is this just the result of not supporting 50% of dvd authoring: ie end actions.

Wonder just how long Premier Pro has to be out before we see the long overdue update of dvda to version 1 :)

i did research on motion video transistioning to motion menu, as well as having a play all button

but all that ive seen was that its only possible to transition between motion menu to video (with alittle help from vegas 4) but not the other way around since you dont have control over the end action of a movie (ie have it automagically go into a menu)

and having a play all only if you rerender all your movie clips into one giant file and set your play all button to point to that, and all chapter selections to have their own set in/out points within that big file

unfortunately ive already prerendered my movies using TMPGENC (DVD NTSC 720x480 3500kbit/s) seperately..and trying to append them results in one giant file with audio desynced

so if you could maybe gimme some advice on how to do these things with DVDA or append each movie without getting that audio problems (TMPGENC doesnt work for me)..or guide me to some resources/tutorials on how do to this..that would be just great

thanks

q2klepto,

as for the joining of files is concerned, check out the "how to" guides and such at www.dvdrhelp.com...there is a wealth of info over there...

Hope you find a solution

And I've pre-rendered my files with the MainConcept codec, then used TMPGENC to append them together, and I *also* get audio desynched.

so tmpgenc doesnt join mpgs well :)
