Did you install them on your new computer?

Vegas and DVDA, like most programs, do not embed fonts into your files. They only have access to the fonts that are installed.

I've never actively installed fonts. I've always believed they were standard equipment. I'm missing MAXIMO, VIVALDI and many others. I have noticed over the course of a few years that new fonts mysteriously appear in the list. maybe some other program is putting them in c:/windows/fonts....but I have no idea which ones if that's the case. I am mystified, bewildered, etc

Sometimes when you install a program, it will come with / install some fonts as well, but it's not the norm. If you had any creative-type software on your old computer, you might want to try installing them on your new one if you haven't already. For example, after I installed Adobe Illustrator CS2, I discovered that it loaded a bunch of fonts. Photoshop may have, too...I'm not sure. Also check to see if you had any font packs installed on the old one.

(Neither Vegas nor DVDA come with any fonts, by the way.)

Otherwise, you may have to search online to see if you can download the missing fonts from anywhere.

I think there's a simple repair. If you still have your old computer, go to the fonts directory (c:\windows\fonts), copy all the fonts onto a shared drive, then connect the shared drive to your new system and copy the fonts into the fonts directory there. It will prompt you if any are duplicates and you can skip them if you wish. But all those from your old system that are not present on the new will be installed.

Simple as that. I've done this many times, and I even keep backup copies of my fonts folder for this very reason, that I never know when I will want to add them to another system.
