what happened to the certification exam for Vegas

Years ago I had purchased a booklet with a spiral spine with two CD's adhered on the inside of the back cover. It was a certification prep booklet that I had acquired at the time to study for the cert exam for Sony Vegas' editing suite. The exam was being offered for approx. somewhere between $70 to $99, can't remember exactly.

Unfortunately, I never saw this to completion, it just kind of sat and is still sitting in my bookshelf. And since then, many changes have been undergone, one of which is that Vegas has been bought out by Magix, and Magix offers nothing of the sort, just online tutorials.

My question is, was the certification along with booklet offered by a third party educational company (such as Vasst), yea, I know, it was a while back, or was this offered through Sony when it was under their tutelage?

For the life of me, there is zilch on anything to do with Vegas certification on Google. Just bunch of random Udemy courses and these online tutorials popping up in place of it. Yes, I am aware of the "reel" argument; make a killer reel and impress the pants off somebody.

However did it ever occur to anyone that flashy 'reels' could in some instances, be manipulated by the person to show levels of ability that goes beyond what the true reality of his or her technical understanding actually consists of?

This could be pulled off by utilizing outside help by involving other more capable users to spice up the reel, or even involve the collaborative efforts of a team of more experienced editors, in which the ratio of accountability of the submitter's contribution to the project can be wildly misconstrued to show more than what was actually given, to the point of claiming sole authorship.

Hence for my own ethical reasons, not as a reviewer, but more as a Vegas User, I wish to validate my knowledge and abilities as a badge of proof to potential employers as well as to myself, something to substantiate the creative process in the production of my reel.

This will also give employers and potential clients a sense of assurance, say, if one lacks experience but is open to learning and honing their craft as an intern or as a junior editor.

Any info on ways to go about this would be appreciated, TY.
