The last time I tried using Hub I got a pop up saying it requires a subscription ?????

Parts of the hub requires a subscription (always has). If you want to download footage or audio clips - requires a subscription version. Speech to text and Text to speech - requires a subscription. Everything that requires a subscription is pointed out on the website.
