What is a Preset Manager?

When downloading a trial version of Vegas or Architect, what is the Preset Manager and what does it do?

I believe in manages your presets/favorites for previous versions of Sonic Foundry products.

Since Sony bought SoFo, some plugins used to be installed to a Sonic Foundry folder and they now are installed to a Sony folder.

Frankly I'd love a Script Manager! Anybody else up for this? Maybe a Window like Media Pool; Transistions etc etc . .As Scripting IS and HAS become very very popular and valuable for creativity, Sony should really "reveal" this to the World . .such a wonderful option . . so little support in terms of "providing" a Manager for it .. . IMHO! ;-)
