(In DVDA 1.0b/Vegas 4.0b, the MPEG encoder was incorrectly squashing the range from 0-255 to 16-235. This is now fixed with DVDA 1.0b, and installing 1.0b updates the MPEG encoder for all SF apps, so this problem is gone. )
