Thanks Leslie. How did you work that out?

I have this error every so often, and I've linked it to CCleaner. It seems that CCleaner deletes *something* that AAV references.

Trying to reinstall AAV fails, as does trying to uninstall it.

I have to plough through the registry to delete all the keys I can find that reference AAV. Sometimes i have to change the permissions on the keys, too.

Only then can I reinstall AAV.

Running Vista x64 Ultimate, if that makes any difference.

searched registry for the code. turns out to be avv colour lab.

now what's causing it i have no idea - other than i remember reading that you needed to uninstall previous versions before updating.

anyway, now you know,

good luck,

leslie
