If your version currently is WIN 2000 and it is stable with few if any system crashes, then little reason or benfit in switching. However if you're using Windows 98 or ME, then I would jump to XP. The issue isn't if Vegas is more stable on one version of Windows or another (I've seen no tanagable difference), rather HOW STABLE Windows itself is. So if you already have WIN 2000 and otherwise have no serious problem, you should be fine. If you don't have it, and you are planning on upgrading your OS anyways, then I'd jump over 2000 and go to XP.

BillyBoy's exactly right. If 2000's working for you, don't rock the boat. If you don't have 2000 yet, skip it and go straight for XP. Adobe didn't even bother to make Premiere Pro compatible with 2000, they made it XP-only, claiming that improvements in XP made it worth it.
