I am reviewing the opportunity to replace my video card. Your opinions or recommendations are appreciated. What is the most effecient video card to have for processing digital video. Nvidia, ATI, 3dLabs?
For how much $$$?
Generally...get a card that has stability via good drivers. Also, the ability to do dual monitors is good if you think you might go that route later.
You don't need a very powerful card for video editing.
nVidia, ATI, Matrox are all good products.
Has anybody have the MATROX Parhelia ? Is it a good video card ? Are you happy with it? What are the advantages of using it instead of using for example the Matrox G550? And what about Matrox RX10 and RX100 ? Do they work well with VV?
Unfortunately I am having poor luck with my Nvidia cards, my projects will not render. If I put any other card in (non-nvidia) things work fine. I am also using Nvidia's website drivers, not the manufactures.
Nvidia cards are overkill for dv editing---go with the Matrox 550--thats the best bang for the buck---The Parhella (sp?) supports three monitors---but I hear there are issues.
