On a regular basis I am working in the trimmer and all of a sudden my cursor changes from a pointer to a double-sided arrow pointing left and right. When I click on something it starts to select a region. I don't know what mode I am in, I don't know how I got there, and I don't know how to get out. As usual, Vegas gives me no obvious solutions. It seems that Esc should remove me from that mode or a right mouse click would give me some indication of where I am, but both of these things just get me further into trouble.
