What plug-ins are these ??

Yesterday, I used V4 to load a project that had been prepared with VV3. In the end of the loading process I got a message that some "plug-in or plug-ins were not present". When I wanted to see more, I was presented with a list of four strings, each one about 20 digits long, and totally unreadeable.

What is this ??? How can I know what is missing by looking at this list ? The original VV3 implementation is more that one year old, how can I remember ???

C'mon, SoFo, sort it out. If I reproduce here these strings can you say *what* plug-ins are missing ? Otherwise, what good is that message for ??

Thanks.

I do belive that when you install v.4 you install in dir Vegas4.The Vegas3 dir still exists.
You propably installed FX plug-in in 3 and did not install it for v4.
Some 3d transition effects was trial plug and in4 are permamnet.
If I remember correct-the dir for plug-in are dirfferent in 3 and different in4. I would check the plugs dir to see if they are in correct folder.
I would recommend to scan for virus and hd fragmentation.

I had the registered plug-in in VV3 (not demo)
V4 wouldn't detect the missing of the Plug-in pack, right ? It is imbedded in V4, so it would be stupid to reinstall the pack again.
Satish Wonder Pack is installed.
What else ?
Virus, defrag .... naaahh ... done that.

Just a guess: those large numbers are probably GUIDs. You might be able to find out what they are by looking in the registry.
Run regedit, look in My Computer\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID, you might see them in that huge list. There is probably a readable name associated with them there.

philfort, you were right !!!
I brought up this thread to the benefit of others,

Indeed, it was simple, I copied/pasted the long string of the message in Regedit-search, and immediately I found the missing plug-in (in my case, Pixelan Cromawarp).
The problem is: if I hadn't V3 installed anymore, I would never have guessed. Lucky me that I have 280 GiG dasd and 4 different bootable environments ... :-)

Thanks !
