What's Best For Composite, Component In, Out

Currently I bring Betacam SP component video in/out of my computer by converting through my JVC mini-DV deck which has a firewire interface. This means a lot of extra hours on my JVC deck, and leaves me with no way to do the conversion when the JVC deck is out for repairs (all too often). The "Miglia Director's Cut Take 2" converter lists at about $380. Is there a less expensive alternative? Or is there a firewire card for my computer which also has composite and/or component video in/out built in? Anyone got a good recommendation? Thanks!

The only suggestion is the DataVideo DAC-2, but it is about the same price. Do a Goggle on DAC-2 and/or DataVideo.

The DAC-2 is a two-way device for all inputs/outputs.

Occasionally, www.videoguys.com have it on sale, usually WITH any NLE purchase. However, I have found that if you call and ask them they will sell it to you for the sale price withOUT any other purchase. Just tell them you already have the best NLE in the world, and you don't want another copy, yet.
