What software to catch AFS video stream?

I tried HiDownload, and purchased Replay Media Catcher, alas - but I still cannot catch media streams successfully.
It is a 45 minutes long program played on a public service TV station. It plays back on their web site, in Windows Media Player.
I think the "file format" so to say, is AFS. I do not know much about the protocols used.

While the entire show plays back just fine, from beginning to end, in Internet Explorer and the Windows Media Player, none of the apps I have used (and purchased) so far do a decent job in downloading the same stream. They stop downloading halfway, in the middle of the program, and sometimes the files are corrupted. To top it, Replay Media Catcher does not even recognize the stream anymore.
Is there any app out there that does what Windows Media player can do - just stream down the whole show, just like that? I am willing to pay a lot for it - provided it just works - as simple as that. Or is there an approach I have overlooked?

I have plenty if disc space, and I clean out temp internet files before I attempt to catch the stream.

Do you really mean ASF ??

ASF is a streaming format used by Windows Media Player.
If it is DRM-free, you should be able to save it by one of various means.

If it is DRM-protected, that means they don't want you to download and play it on your home computer, so you would be on your own at that point.

Yes, I probably mean ASF.
I must look up DRM protection. But sometimes I succeed in catching the stram, sometimes not. Maybe this is the art and behavior of DRM protection..?

I use Firefox and find the Download Helper plug-in to be useful on most occasions I wanted to do this.

Don't think I've tried to capture and ASF stream, tho'. Give it a shot.
