What to render to?

My first attempt at a Blue Ray project ,an hour or so long using MS Plat. 10. I would like to split the project into many smaller sections and then putting it all together as one final project. What should I render each individual section to for best efficiency so I don't have to re:render the final project with a time consuming render. Thanks for helping a newbie.

So you're working with hi-def video, right?

I'd recommend outputting each segment as an MPEG set to 1440x1080 30i. That's standard HDV video. (The pixels are anamorphic, as TV pixels are, so 1440x1080 is exactly the same size as square pixels 1920x1080.)

If you output your segments to those specs (it produces an .m2t or .mts file), the files will load perfectly into a project set up for HDV for your final mixdown and output to BluRay.

The TV pixels are not anamorphic anymore, new TVs are true 1920x1080, so there's no reason to render at 1440x1080 anymore.
