What was the name of the show..

... that showed old movies and had the black outline of heads and shoulders of people sitting in a theater across the bottom of the screen. Apparently these people were 'characters' that wisecracked their way through the movie? How difficult would it be to reproduce this effect? Thanks in advance for your ideas. John

Mystery Science Theater 3000?

Should be very easy. Shoot your talent in shadows with a lit solid color screen in front of them, then chroma key the screen. Place this on track one with the old movie on track two. Converter track two to black & white if you wish.

Very good, Chienworks, that is the correct answer. Here's their web site:

Mystery Science Theater 3000

"Harriet, the cattle are smoking again."

The funny thing is that except for about 3 seconds worth that a friend of mine put in a video montage, i've never seen MST3000.

Neither have I. It was a suggestion for a vid from my post college daughter who thought it was great. Thanks for the web site . It looks like they broadcast the show once a week online. Thanks again, John
