What would everyone suggest to use for making multimedia cds on the lines of dvd architect?Read on

I am looking for a program that will allow the same setup with diff pages, etc like dvd architect achieves but allowing me to use mpeg1 files, mov files, or the such rather than dvds. These would be of course for cdroms. What does everyone else use?

Thanx gang.

David,

Macromedia's Director is a general purpose multimedia authoring tool. The latest version is called Director MX. For more information, see

Macromedia Director MX

There are less expensive multimedia authoring tools. If you are thinking more along the lines of creating interactive multimedia, Macromedia's Authorware 6.5 might be of interest:

How about Multimedia Builder at $48 (www.mediachance.com)
..or Mediator Pro (www.matchware.net)

Or Ulead's DVD Movice Factory. It also does CD's and SVCVD. What you can do with CD's is limited by the specs. You can get a menu like system, not chapters like in DVD's. Try the demo.

For a little more expensive but perhaps better solution (have not compared the ones mentioned here to it), try http://www.autoplaystudio.com/

I have to agree as well, multimedia builder is the way to go, unless you need the CD's to be played on a MAC, then you will probably have to go with Director MX.

believe it or not, Adobe Acrobat has a very usable interactive creation interface.
you can insert all forms of movies, sound trax, and of course, anything that is Acrobat PDF.
it also allows the creation of buttons.

... and a lot of "business types" have this program already on their hard drive.

but note - not Acrobat Reader - it's got to be the more expensive sibling, Acrobat Writer.

I put multiple files on a cd with easy cd creator 6 with no problem. I put .Mov for quicktime and wmv for windowsmedia and a vcd file all on the same cd for someone. It was a music video and by doing it that way they could get it to show to anyone as long as they had a computer or a dvd player that plays vcd's. I have been a long time easy cd creator user and like the version 6 have not tried to make a dvd with it yet. However if you have not bought it and are planning on buying it and you have xp like I do be sure and uninstall any earlier versions of easy cd creator before you install. Works great on my machine.

By the way if you find you need a template using MMB we make them for people and once made you can easily modify them.
If you are good with software you could certainly get buy without help.
Were here if you just don't have the time or interest.
