When dragging event between tracks audio doesn't drag along with video

Vegas Pro 15; Windows 8.1 Pro

I simply want to drag an event between tracks. The video moves but the audio doesn't . The event is grouped and "Ignore Event Grouping" is turned OFF. How do I get this to work without having to shift-click?

DETAILS

The event is composed of video/audio on track 1/2 respectively. I grab the video portion of the group and drag it to blank tracks 3/4, video/audio respectively. The video moves but the audio stays behind on its track 2. I have to shift-click the video and audio then drag and it works. I do a lot of inter-track moving of events and having to shift-click is quite inconvenient. Again the event IS grouped and "Ignore Event Grouping" is turned OFF. How do I get this to work without having to shift-click?

Thanks.

I still can't figure out a way without having to select both tracks first. This has bugged me since the beginning. I started using Vegas at version 2 I think.

Will using the Selection Tool rather than the Normal Editing Tool solve the problem?

Or using the nos. 8 or 2 on the numeric keypad may help -- play around with it to see.
