Did all of your menus and submenus work in the DVD-A internal preview? Did you actually burn the disc from DVD-A or did you use a different burning program?

Open your Project.
Click the Menu 1 icon to highlight it.
Click the purple button with the star inside ("Disc Start").
Save your Project, Prepare and Burn again.

Ok. What I think I did was highlight the wrong portion of the DVD. I burned it while highlighting the movie dar that has a little image of a film on the side. Do you need to burn it while highlighting the menu icon?

No, it is the menu item you set as the DISC START
Once again, highlight the first menu and click the purple icon with the star inside.
Besides pointing you to the correct icon, I don't know what else I can do to help.

Perhaps you should take a look at the .dar file -- musicvid is correct that the start of the disc will be denoted by a star inside a purple background, but it's not something that you explicitly set, unless you want to change the 'first play' video to something else.

Opening up a new menu-based project will automatically give you a "Menu 1" with this purple star. Unless you changed it to something else or deleted this menu, it should still be there. If it's not, do what musicvid suggested, then prepare and burn again. (RW media suggested...)
