Maybe in a month or two. They are probably squashing the bugs as fast as they can, but want to make sure to get as many as they can and fix them right. It seems like Magix has been averaging 3-4 builds per version, so probably the time is closer to 3 months. The program has been running okay for me, but I did notice that I was getting some crashes when the Preview was at max quality, and so once I reduced that, I only get them occasionally. But my mantra is always. Save early, save often. I get crashes in 3D programs and other programs all the time.

A couple. I open the file, its loaded, I push play, it plays. But then I scroll down and it takes quite awhile. that only happens once every time I open a file. But I constantly zoom in and it takes way too long to process this. sometimes I loose my spot and cant find where I put a clip I was moving. Then finally it crashes pretty good scrubbing through the timeline. it just isn't as stable as VP16 ATM.

Magix and others should really consider doing an open beta like Resolve. They just went through a 4 month beta cycle with 7 versions until the final release last week. Lot's of bugs were squashed during that period and the Resolve team benefited from many users on various systems kicking the tires.

Go into preferences>video tab, and then reduce the number of thumbnails displayed on the timeline, or turn them off if that doesn't help. See if that helps.
