When using "share" function to upload to YouTube, what's happening?

Hi all. When you're using the share function to upload to YouTube, what's happening under the hood (bonnet for you UK folks)? What resolution, rates, etc.? It certainly happens a LOT faster than rendering out and then uploading. Just uploaded one, and it's still at 480P. Maybe YT is overloaded right now. Hopefully, it will show up as HD soon. The original was 1920x1080.

And next morning, it was still not in HD. 480 max. So are there output settings for this "share" function?

And when you directly upload from the "share" function, is a file created somewhere on your PC or only online?

Thank you.

At your PC on the default location that you see when you open the "render as..."- window.
