Where are the upgrades?

Congratulations on the release! We're as excited as you probably are.

The website lists the actual complete version of VV3. However, an upgrade is nowhere to be found. Any idea on when that will be available?

All ready and waiting. Credit card in hand. Hurry up. I've got the Sorenson 3 Pro compressor as a alternative purchase as I need that also. Then the upgrade will have to wait until next month.

Tick Tock.

Hello, the upgrade can be found at http://www.sonicfoundry.com/promo.asp?keycode=6858
or by calling 1-800-577-6642 and use code 6858.

Hope it helps!

SF's e-mail message gives us the following link:
http://www.sonicfoundry.com/promo.asp?keycode=6858

However, if you go there, you won't find any $99 Vegas 3 upgrade. Instead, you'll find information about Vegas 3, followed by a set of links to upgrade to Vegas 2 (not 3!!!) for $149.95.
I think they sent their e-mail out to soon. The site's not ready to make the sales.

If you click on BUY instead of upgrade, You see a $599 price slashed out with a $99 price next to it! Is this the full product price or the upgrade price?

If I order the Upgrade through mail (release Dec 15th I beleive) will I get a hard copy of the manual. That was VERY helpful to me for Vegas II.

I could be wrong...but I don't think SF prints manuals anymore. They're all help files. You can download a PDF file and print your own, however.

Like I said, I could be wrong.

wow, I hope so. I got a nice manual with my VVII and it was good reading on my commutes.

When upgrading, is there an advantage to the hard copy verses the download?
In any case do you install VV3 over VV2 or uninstall
VV2 first?

Well, personally I love a hard copy. It's all there , bound, and I dont have to print it out myself.

But I just spoke with SF and there is no printed manual for VV3

Vegas Video 3.0 will live side by side with VegasVideo 2.0.

When you say side by side, does that mean both VV2 and VV3 will be two seperate programs taking up space on the hard drive. Do I need both or is it that work already done on VV2 doesn't work on VV3?
SonyIMC wrote on 11/20/2001, 4:04 PM
yes, both programs will be an the harddrive and they will run at the same time. You can do everything in 3.0 thats in 2.0. Keeping them both on the machine is a matter of personal taste.
