I've had vegas 3.0 for a couple years now (yes I know I should've upgraded a long time ago>>) and I really need to upgrade to 5.0 but can't find it anywhere on the web for a decent price..probably because it was just released. Does anyone where I can get 5.0 for really cheap...mabee a website that gives accademic discounts on software(i'm a student)? Thanks all..

How much cheaper than $149 are you expecting to find a program that lists for $699? Because $149 is the upgrade price to you from Sony for being a Vegas customer.

Well... ronaldf beat me to it. just follow his link and select Upgrade Vegas to Vegas 5.0 and you're all set. I think for an extra $100 you might want to consider upgrading to Vegas+DVD for $249. I think you would be hard pressed to find a better DVD Authoring application for only $100! It’s as good as anything in the $500 category. Just my 2 cents. ;-)

How did you get the 199 price instead of the 249 price?

Start on this page from the Kowledge Base and select the pricing that’s appropriate for your situation.
