Where did my chapter markers go?

I started my project on a laptop..music video 1 main page with 3 scene selection pages each with 7 chapter markers ( 21 in total) . My scene selection pages are still going to the right spots in preview but all the markers are now missing from the time line. I did everything on a firewire ext drive and brought it back to my home studio. I added all the markers individually on the timeline while working on the laptop.

I now need to do some corrections and the markers are missing. Any ideas? Did I leave a file behind on the laptop , maybe where the program is installed. Thanks for any replies ..I'm working with a deadline.

I lost my markers once - I had renamed the file, and the markers were attached to the .sfk file under the wrong name. Renaming the files brought them all back and available.

Is that file available, and properly named?

interesting express,
I did do a correction to the avi file in vegas and rerendered under the same name hoping my markers would still exist in the dvda file. Maybe they are attached to the avi and not the dvda project file.
Is there a way to reinsert them with out having to redo my scene selection pages which are holding the correct markers even though they are not visible on the timeline?

a slight correction..as I mentioned I corrected my avi file ..saved under the same name and then rerendered as an mpeg2 file which I also saved under the same name for use in dvda and used the existing ac3 file for audio which still was in sync with the mpeg2 file as my correction did not affect the timeline. A little extra info to ponder ...my head hurts :-)
