where did the trimmer go?

So I have one monitor and keep moving the crop, preview, and trimmer window around. Hastilly, I move the trimmer off the screen (at least that's what I think I did). No summons I can muster will bring it back. I have this 1.5 hour source I'm using along with other material. But I only need a few seconds at a time. The trimmer is an essential tool.

How does one recover the trimmer? Alt 2 doesn't do it! The pick list shows it's enabled but it's nowhere to be seen.

Sounds like you moved it off the screen. Your best bet is to hold down then SHIFT key when starting Vegas which will reset all settings. However, if you want to try to find it, there are a couple of options:

1. Resize your screen to a higher screen resolution so it is now on the screen. After moving it back to the main area, resize the screen back to the original size.

2. Press ALT-2 to activate the trimmer, press ALT - SPACE - ENTER and then use the arrow keys to move it back onto the screen. Once visible, you can then drag it back to where it belongs.

Option 1 worked. Couldn't get 2 to work. In any case, I'm back in business...grumble grumble...thanks.
