Where does encoding happen

I'm rendering a series of qt *.mov files to windows DV-avi . The output file shows zero bites. Where is the rendering happeining at? Not sure what I might have set when setting up and it running for 9 hrs now so can't check. If it was lleft default ... where would it be?

Are you sure Vegas hasn't hung? Anyway, to answer your question, the output file should get progressively bigger as the render is happening.

If I were in your position, I would test out the settings by rendering a small section (like 1 second) of the timeline and making sure that it is working OK. Only then would I be prepared to attempt a task that might run 9 hours without me getting overly concerned. I would also make sure that my destination hard drive has a lot of spare capacity.

As a matter of interest, how long is the series of mov files?
