Don't know when this changed but *arg* , when I drag the end of a clip instead of just trimming it and taking away what I dont want, its changing the time of the clip. Same thing happens if I try to cut the clip.
Got a clip on the timeline. If I cut off the first five seconds of the clip or drag the beginning of the clip it changes the start point of the video that's in the clip. So say there is a car passing by at 30 seconds into the clip, if I cut of the first five seconds the car is now at 35 seconds on the timeline instead of just cutting the first five seconds and leaving the car at 30 seconds.
In this I'm trying to slow down a clip at a certain point with velocity envelopes, but when I try to take off some of the beginning of the clip it changes the timing of the video and I have to repo the velocity envelopes.
Dont know how to stop it, but a work around is to split the clip where you are shortening it and take the envelope off the clip to the left (begining), delete that and the rest of clip to right will hold the envelope.
Once you use velocity envelopes, it becomes very difficult to trim the event. I have seen some suggestions that you start at the end of the event and work backwards, if that makes any sense.
Mutt
I think i get your drift, are you slowing down the whole clip or just a section of it? I know Ive had problems in the past if the vel env starts below 100% at the beginning of the clip. when you trim you see the carrat at the top showing the clip starting over.
I ve ended up creating a subclip for that section that I wanted to slow down the butting it up to the rest of the clip at norm speed.
