"Anyone know of any thing other than New Blue and Boris?"

Sure, try GenArts: http://www.genarts.com/product

Direct link to their plugins that work in Vegas: http://www.genarts.com/product/sapphire/nukeofx/features

All this happened with Vegas 10 that came out months ago. I'm expecting by 11 there will be more plugins on the API.

Must admit. As Vegas never had the plugins, I just bought them for AE instead. No need to buy duplicates.

maybe it's time to pay more attention to content rather than for plug-ins?

(general observation - no flame intended!)

No way!!
I want 50,000 different FX so that I can make everyone seasick when they watch my videos, kinda like a cheesy PowerPoint presentation :)

mike, i bet you couldn't match some of my students mm2 efforts EVEN with 50,000 different fx's!!! talk about instant nausea.....

no headlines from over there, so either you're frozen solid, or nobody cares any more, unless there's some spectacular footage to go with the news report....

Leslie, I had a group of students once who insisted on using a different FX on every single shot change and no amount of begging and pleading on my part would sway them :(

We're finally starting to thaw out up here.
After almost 2 weeks of -10 to -20 C., the long range forecast says this week will be as high as +9 C. and I'm ecstatic!!!

wow! out with the sunnies and shorts!!!

As I recall, it was a group of girls who did that particular video.

Not ready for shorts just yet but it looks like spring is going to be here soon :)

Hmm I dunno...am I the only one who thinks that the above mentioned plugs look kinda cheap? I watched all their videos, and was not impressed at all...nothing there, from the light rays to the color corrections to the inversions etc , that is not already in Vegas. Exept maybe some text generators and text FX. Also, having minuscule 5-10 second clips doesn´t really make for a professional presentation and look I thought.
I must admit that Red Giant is what impresses me most so far.

It all depends on what you are aiming for. 99% of the time, cheesy over the top FX are perfect if you want an effect. Only hollywood doesn't really use them.
