Where's that Avid DNxHD codec gone?

PeterWright wrote on 8/5/2012, 5:42 AM
On my previous editing machine, I installed the free Avid DNxHD codec, and there it was in Render settings under QT7 in Vegas11, W7 64bit.

On my "whizz-bang" new machine I installed the same, but it does not appear in Render as, under QT7, even after rebooting.

Any ideas what may have happened, or not happened?

Thanks

Peter

Exact same issue here and both machines are running Win7 64 bit...anyone know why it doesn't show up in Vegas but shows up in the uninstall app?

Don't see the problem here.

Win7-SP1-64bit, VPro11/683 and QT 7.7.1. DNxHD 2.3.7

Just used it the other day.

My specs are exactly the same except I'm running VP10...surely that can't make a difference can it?
Thanks very much,

My apologies if I am stating the obvious.

You are saying if you select any of the templates from the available Quicktime 7 template list, then clicking "Customize Template", you do not see the Avid DNxHD option in the Video format drop down list?

I am having my share of problems with 11 but that is not one of them. Using 64-bit 10 and 11 on Windows 7 SP1.

Randy,
No problem with VP10e(64bit). Can see it just fine.

Initially I got excited reading this because on my older machine (where I see it) it was showing in the initial dropdown and so figured I had made a custom template... but just checked my newer machine...even when going to custom and then selecting custom frame size I don't see it.
Thanks very much,

I can see it fine on this PC too (VP10e-64) but not on my new PC.
Not a big rush now as my client said I could just print to tape but sure would like to figure out what's going on.
Thanks again my friends,
Randy

It might be related to the Sony AVC codec missing in newer machines and that was an Intel HD graphics driver issue. Search the forums and give it a try.

'On my "whizz-bang" new machine I installed the same, but it does not appear in Render as, under QT7, even after rebooting'.

Try to copy the necessary files AvidAVjiCodec.qtx, AvidAVuiCodec.qtx ... etc from C:\Program Files\QuickTime\QTComponents to folder C:\Windows\SysWOW64 (for Win-7) or to C:\WINDOWS\system32 (for Win XP)
