Hi OhMy

I guess that you allready know this comparison sheet:

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/products/product.asp?PID=404&PageID=28

but if not, it might be of help.
It is not the latest version (8) but still indicates the differences.

I have had VMSP for several years and the last year also Full Vegas (last versions of both).

Without really planning it my habit has become to use VMSP in 90% of my editing and only use Full Vegas for the more special last 10% - like nested projects etc.

It might probably only bee a feeling and because I have got so used to VMSP - but I feel that my basic editing is faster using VMSP and also that the previewing seems to be slightly faster in VMSP.

CircuitCity has it in their circular for $70 (after rebate). Not sure if it's in store, or delivery only...

I have also got both VMSP and full Vegas but I still use VMSP quite a bit because I also think it not only runs faster but renders quicker too. Perhaps that's because 'big Vegas' gives better quality but I can't tell the difference.
Now that VMSP8 can also do the lightshow thingy when snapping events I might have to upgrade. The cheapest route would probably be to follow the link the July newsletter and DL for $34.95.

Ron23 - Would it be possible to shoot me a link via email with that 34.95 link? I've owned Vegas since version 3 and have never received any type of news letter. I understand it is for the new Movie Studio Platinum release (I own version 7). I found full blown vegas to be overkill for my needs.

Thanks,

Paul

Just go to the top of the page you are looking at and click 'About SCS'. Then click on 'newsletters' and the July newsletter should come up automatically.

Food for thought - check buy.com (really good product site, IMO) and dealigg.com (really good coupon & deal site) before you buy anything, including Vegas. I purchased VMS 6.0b 3 months ago, and found it at buy.com - are you ready for this? - for $69.95 with ***$60 in rebates***. Adjusted cost, $9.95. Then I applied for the buy.com VISA and used it to purchase VMS, and the VISA card gave a $30 credit on the statement. The net cost? I got paid $20 to purchase VMS 6.0b!!!!

That's about the best deal I've ever received.

Wow Mick, you redefine the word 'bargain shopper' ;) Thanks for all the tips. I will definately check out those sites you gave me. I don't really think I'm in your league, but a little help would be nice :) Thanks again. Cin

I bought VMS + DVD 6 at amazon.co.uk for 45 Euros, postage included; (I live in Europe. Compare to other retailers: 109 euros.
I guess I got this bargain, because VMS8 is about to come out, but I 'm very happy for what I got!
