Where to buy media

I was just wondering where you guys buy your DVD-R media for distributing professional looking final product.

I found a site http://www.supermediastore.com which sells just about everything under the sun for really good prices. I noticed they had a sample pack of different brand DVD-R and RW's. So I ordered a pack because I wasn't sure how some of those off brand discs would burn on my Pioneer 105. Some of their discs are cheap though if they are reliable. Cheap as in the "under $1.50" range.

I buy mine from PC Club. They are a popular (brick) store in my area (Seattle). They sell a 50 pack of DVD-R for $39.99 - about $0.80 a disk. Here is the link for online ordering...

I just bought some, but am still going through a previous batch I bought somewhere else, so I haven't tried them yet. There are a few 5 star reviews on their site for them.

I've ordered from them a couple of times and have been happy so far. I have an A03 so I only get 1x discs but so far they have worked well. I bought some 2x discs from another place last year and they won't play in any standalone dvd player so I use them for data backup only.

There were some 2x issues in early versions of the A03/103 firmware. Do you have the latest (2.0)? I've been buring 2x for over a year and have never had a bad disk. You can download the latest from...

Good point Steve. I am on the current version but I don't remember trying one of those 2x discs for video since doing earlier upgrades (like the one for preventing a fire with using 4x discs. :) I'll give it a shot.

I finally got around to trying the media in my previous post. They appear to be 1x since that is all DVDA is letting me choose. In reading the latest feedback on the site, people are saying they changed their generic DVD-R selection from 2x to 1x.

Another thing I've noticed is many of my disks get errors in my Sony S7700 player. I figured the disks were bad, but they play fine on my computer and XBOX. So, either my S7700 has issues physically reading this brand of disks, or DVDA is creating MPEG streams that are not fully compatible with my one player. My guess is DVDA is not the issue.
