Which 32-bit floating point to use?

BittenByTheBug wrote on 1/8/2010, 2:28 PM
Under Pixel Format in project property, there are three options:
8-bit
32-bit floating point (video levels)
32-bit floating point (full range)

I understand that I should work in 8-bit for speed and then switch to 32-bit for more vivid colors. Can someone explain the difference between the two 32-bit choices above?

Thanks,

Glenn Chan has some articles on his site which should help to de-mystify things for you.
Note that there are separate articles for Pro 8 and Pro 9.

Thanks Mike. I am glad I asked. There are more to it than guessing by the "levels" and "full range" descriptions. Good articles by Glenn Chan.
