Which bin is my subclip in?

I want to find an alternative but similar shot to one already on the timeline so I want to quickly go to it's bin. All the shots are subclips which have been sorted into dozens of bins. So in the timeline I right click the shot and select "Select in Media Pool". All clips from every bin are then shown in the Media Pool with my clip highlighted.

Question is... How do I know which bin my clip came from?

Don't mean to be rude, but why do you care?

Sub-clips are just pointers to the media. Once the media is in your movie, what difference does it make which bin it came from?

Asking because I'm wondering if iI'm missing something here.

Say you have some street interviews and you think 'hey what else did this guy say' or 'I'll put the reporter's reverse question in' which was shot some time later on a different tape but you had the nouse to put it in the same bin as the interview.

It's just the way I work on Avid Media Composer...I must use the "Find Bin" button a hundred times a day.

So my question remains ...How do I know which bin my clip came from?

Makes perfect sense. The only way I know of is to use the Search Bins... feature.

It would be nice to jump into the appropriate bin with one click. It's monkey work to have to type in a search term.

Yes, I did think of the search bin function but you're right.. way too tedius.
I'll submit a request to Sony. Perhaps others that can see the use could also do this. It does seem that numbers count when it comes to getting features implemented.
