Which Deep Learning Model for V21 Build 208?

andrewcg wrote on 6/19/2024, 3:16 PM

Hi, I want to update my V21 build 187 to build 208. I believe Deep Learning Models 21.2.0.0 was released along with build 300 and up. Should I use the latest Deep Learning Models with build 208?

I haven't tried with this condition, but I think latest Deep Learning Models should be ok.

btw, why you are not updating to latest build 315 ?

I'm going to give it a shot. I really wanted to use 315 but I'm worried about getting frame or stutter issues in render as some reported. I like the new stuffs they added for 300 and up though. I can't wait til the new video engine is mature enough.

What type of source footages do you usually work with? How the footages made and what camera?

In case you want to experiment, you can try save-as project as different VEG project file, so if something not right, you can roll back from b315 to b208.

They are mix of cellphone and dslr footages usually. The current project footages are all Lumix G85 mp4s so I think 315 should be stable enough but I just don't want to chance it. That's not a bad idea to save out different VEG file to try it out. I wish I could install both b208 and b315. I don't like rolling software back/forth lol. It sounds like you have good stable experience with b315?

I have VP 21.208 and the 21.2.0.0 deep learning module installed and the combination seems to work fine. I went back to 208 from 315 due to various decoding issues.
