Hello all,

I found 'Use Microsoft DV codec' in the options window. What DV codec use Vegas instead of Microsofts`? Which is better? Which to use? Are there any differences? Are they compatible?

Thanks for help

VIA K7T 266, Athlon 1600+, 512MB RAM, 2x 80GB HDD, Sony TRV310E, SB Audigy Platinum with IEEE port, DVRaptor digital editing card (not using now, too buggy)

From what everyone has said (I don't deal with DV much) the SF DV codec is much better. However, it can't be used by non-SF programs, and if you take your DV file to another computer it will use the Microsoft DV codec to decompress it, while keeping the origional file in the SF DV codec.

Use the SF DV codec for all your renders.
