which hardware acceleration to use?

having considered this... i suspect that if sony hadnt bought vegas it would already be integrated with hardware - maybe dc1000?

ARE SONY JUST SITTING ON THIS SO IT DOESNT GET DEVELOPED ANY FURTHER?

anyone know anything to suggest otherwise?

IMO it is highly unlikely that Vegas will ever be linked with hardware assistance for DV, and unless you're doing same day turnaround stuff such as newsgathering it's no big deal. Vegas provides real time editing already.

- HD is another matter.

If Sony hadn't bought SoFo, it would very likely have gone under. If you read around the forums you will see that Sony are very enthusiastic about their acquisition of Vegas and we are looking forward to future developments.

As far as the dc1000 is concerned - there are several dc1000 and dc2000 owners using Vegas whilst their Pinnacle cards gather dust.
