Which is better CTL drag or Insert Event Velocity?

To creat slomo's I use both methods but started to wonder if one was better than the other.

I use CTRL-Drag if I just want to slow down an entire clip the same amount because it's simpler. I use the Velocity envelope if I need to vary the speed over time. I use both if I need to speed it up faster than either will do by itself.
