I'm considering the asus P4p800 SE but not sure wihich brand of cpu to get! The prescott or the canterwood? Which version would work better with this MB for Vegas 4. I have 1gig of Ram ( 2-512 sticks of pc2700). I plan on upgrading to better memory in about 6 mos. (2 gig pc3200). Can anyone help? I will problably use this system for about 2 or so years.

Rado,

Please go back and edit your other posts, so that you one have one thread going.

I would go with the Northwood chip as it runs cooler. The Prescott seems to only slightly faster but much hotter. Heat can affect the lifecycle of your other components. I think over the long haul, you are better off going with the cooler chip. The difference in speed is not really noticeable.
