Which version of Vegas created my .veg

Is there anyway to tell which Version of Vegas 7,8,9 etc..created a .veg?

Use a Hex Editor and read byte at offset 46 (hexa).
I can’t say if this works with all versions, but it works with V7, 8 and 9:

Is there a lexicon or map of the .veg file? I wrote a program that extracts all marker names, but if I could find a Rosetta Stone, index or SDK of the data offsets, I could probably make a neat diagnostic tool that translates the veg file into English or even allows for spell check on generated text.
