Which Video Factory do I buy?

Okay, I'm sold on VF, but which one should I get? Screenblast has a chroma keyer, but someone described Screenblast as VF 1.5. Is that true, and if so, what's the reason? Then there's Video Explosion Deluxe. Are there any drawbacks to this version? I have yet to see Sonic VF itself in a store, only Screenblast and VED. Personally, I will never upgrade to Vegas, so that's not an issue.

Also, is it still true you must render an AVI before printing to tape?

Don;t know about the options, but in Video Factory, it renders to an AVI before outputting to tape. You need to have plenty of harddrive real estate for large projects.

Sony Screenblast Video Factory (or Movie Studio) is now based on Video Factory 2. However, their product description does not make that clear. It was previously based on Video Factory 1; that's where the VF 1.5 comments came from. Like the Sonic Foundry's VF, you need to purchase a plugin if you want MPEG-2.

Video Explosion Deluxe from Nova Development Corp. is basically Video Factory 2 + a striped down version of MyDVD (LE?). Since it can burn DVD's, it comes with an MPEG-2 plugin although I have heard that it is not the Mainconcept plugin, rather something of worse quality (Ligos?).

Perhaps someone else who owns these products can fill in the blanks.
